Location for a story board

As mentioned in some of my previous posts, I do a lot of scouting prior to a wedding shoot.
This way, I can show the couple that Wedding Photography, as captured by Nomad Photography, is not just clicking the trigger on the day of the Wedding.
I try to compose a story with the location that they chose. I plan for plan B for “what if” scenarios and also I make sure to show them the photos and have achat with teh couple so if they have some particular request, we can discuss during our final meeting before the wedding day.

Actually, I met the couple of my last wedding during a scout on a previous wedding. We had a chat, I gave them my card and 6 months later, I got a call from them to book their Wedding Photography. How good is that !

Here are some shots from my last location scouting. It’s in Lennox Garden, in Canberra (ACT).
I’ll post a few more later on.

Wedding in the Gardens

As promised, a few photos that I just finished to PP.

This was a sunny day and I had the joy to shoot this wedding in The Botanic Gardens. We almost had the gardens for ourselves until some … locals came along to join in and share the happyness of the newly wed. Check out by yourself.

Oh, also that I love rings, especially when they are engraved. A few words meaning a lifetime of love.

See what I meant when I talked about Locals ???

Canon 5D2. Birth of controversy.

There is a lot of dicussion around on various forums regarding the Canon 5D2 and its new features. Some yell out for scandal why Canon put a video mode in a D-SLR and other complain about the “affordable” (but not confirmed) price of 2500 USD body only. The main argument found around is that “uncle Bob” could have the same camera as you at a wedding …

Well, I’d say that a camera doesn’t have to be expensive to give fantastic images. Having a top of the line camera doesn’t make you an outstanding photographer either. If you know how to pull the best out of your gear, if you master the light and composition, you can have kiler images even with apoint ans shoot. At least that’s what I think and believe.

Other than that, I still like to have the lastest gears because, because … because I like it. And if it could help me to improve my photography than why not? I used to mix still images and short video sequences in my slide show, and the brides like it, so now with full HD video function built in the Canon 5D2, why should I complain? In fact I don’t.
