Poonam’s Henna

Poonam & Grant’s Wedding Photography has been planned for more than a year ahead and it finally took place, last Monday, by Poonam’s Henna.

It’s an awesome Indian tradition for the bride to be to wear the Henna, designed by very talented artists, Poonam’s Aunties, coming directly from India.

All the bridesmaids, of course, were present to have their Henna as well.

Yesterday was the traditional Hindu Ceremony, that took place  @ Rydges Capital Hill, Manuka.

Needless to say it was an awesome Ceremony, followed by the Reception where lots of traditions have been respected.

Here are some images from Poonam’s Henna while waiting for the edits of yesterday’s Wedding.

I can’t wait to capture their Anglican Ceremony this Saturday.

Al the best guys.

Meenaxshi & Avineet KUMAR

I had a immense joy to capture one of the most exciting weddings yet in Canberra. The Wedding of Meenaxshi & Avineet KUMAR.

It was a three intensive day wedding, at least for me, as traditional Indian Weddings happen during 5 or plus days.

We started with the beautiful bride in Nicholls two days before the actual Wedding during the Henna session, traditional paintings on the Bride hands, arms and feet.

The paintings have specials meanings and it is also common that in the paintings, the name of the Groom is written in a “secret spot”. After the Ceremony, the Groom is supposed to find his name in his wife’s hand.

Here are a few images captured during that first day with the, sari, Bride’s outfit and the Henna session with the  beautiful Bride, Meenaxshi Dyall, just before she became Meenaxshi Kumar.

More to come.
