Nomad Models

Winter is settling in in Canberra and the Wedding season is almost over.

I then turned to my second passion for photography: Fashion.

From an event and wedding “profile”, I do prefer shooting outdoor, event for fashion photography and here in Canberra, we do have some amazing locations to shoot.

For these various shoots, I mainly use Profoto lighting gears and alternated Hasselblad H4D40 with Canon gears (5D2, 1D4) and Nikon gears (D3s, D3x).

I also used a couple of C.Buff products including Alien Bees B1600s and Einstein with VBII and Mini Lithium battery packs.

Iulia & The TS-E

It was during a meet and chat with Iulia, to drop off the disk of images from a recent shoot, that I decided to go for an improvised unplanned shoot with her.

As I always have my camera within reach, we headed to the Dunrossil Drive (famous drive to the General Governor of Australia in Yarrallumla).

I used a Canon 5D Mark II and the newly acquired Canon TS-E 90 mm f/2.8 for this session.

This lens is a real joy to play with (for what it is not designed for) and I’d say that having used the Canon TS-E 24 mm f/3.5 L II, this new TS-E lens is gonna be one of my favorites.

All images are shot with the harsh light of near mid day, both in open shade and full sun.

No plan, no pre make up and no sexy lighting as I use to pack for fashion shoots.

Amanda Choong, behind the scene at the market place

A few weeks ago I did a photoshoot with a young and yet talented inspiring model, Amanda Choong.
The shoot took place at a marketplace outside of Canberra. It was cold of course but the model performed as a professional model.
Check out the video (don’t forget to flick the HD button) below a few new photos.
A big thank to Jean Paul Groove, a close friend of mine, to have mixed the music and a special thank to Vincent, my brother, for the video.
Enjoy the show.

Tamsin. The Model Mayhem II

As mentioned in a previous post, Tamsin is the featured model for today’s article.

This session was from last Saturday, the day before Miss Top Model.

I have been so busy these last days that I couldn’t maintain my Model session and editing within 3 days as per my normal timing. I hope Tamsin would,’t mind too much.

We had quite a good time shooting together in the ANU areas, Tamsin, Vincent, my brother and I.  I will be posing the behind the scence video (video by Vincent) on the Nomad Photography TV soon.

Enjoy the photos and stay tuned for the next episode featuring Tamsin.
