Fog in the City

It was a winter day in Canberra but, unlike other winter days, it was a really cold morning one.

I woke up this morning and felt that the heater wasn’t up to the task and realised that today, this year, winter in Canberra was a bit tougher than past years.

The fog was really thick and visibility was really bad. I though that it would be a great opportunity to take some pictures… Actually my wife called me to tell me that I should take some pictures 🙂

A special thought for those who can’t afford the comfort and luxury of a warm home.

Bridal Magazine Shoot

Last year I did the photo shoot for the Your Local Wedding Guide Magazine Canberra.

The editors of the magazine were so happy with the shoot that they asked me to do it again this year.

It was a really fun day shooting at the Hotel Realm, in Barton.

The mock up has now been finalized and the cover is up for poll on the website.

I’d say that I am also very happy of the result as this shot was planned to be a studio set up and I asked to use the location with so many nice backdrops for the shoot.

I’m glad they listened.

I used two “tiny” Canon flashes for these images and without additional battery packs. The flash guns were on light stands with umbrellas.

Here are the covers to choose from.

Vote for your favorite cover here: http://www.weddingguide.com.au/competitions/canberracovervote.aspx

Thank you again Michael & Lyn from Your Local Wedding Guide to come down to Canberra for the shoot.

Also big hugs for the models: Emma and Jordan who did a fantastic job during the shoot.

Tamsin. The Model Mayhem II

As mentioned in a previous post, Tamsin is the featured model for today’s article.

This session was from last Saturday, the day before Miss Top Model.

I have been so busy these last days that I couldn’t maintain my Model session and editing within 3 days as per my normal timing. I hope Tamsin would,’t mind too much.

We had quite a good time shooting together in the ANU areas, Tamsin, Vincent, my brother and I.  I will be posing the behind the scence video (video by Vincent) on the Nomad Photography TV soon.

Enjoy the photos and stay tuned for the next episode featuring Tamsin.

Amanda Choong reloaded.

I’ve been quite busy shooting, day and night, and had barely time to edit the photos from the shoot with Amanda (from this post).

Amanda is a young UNI student who seriously desires to get involved in the modeling industry.

I’m very happy the way she gets involved and followed my direction during the shoot. She’s still young and yet very talented, no doubt she’ll get her look into the fashion industry.

Next model to feature this wall will be Tamsin Starick (reloaded from this post).

Here come the photos.
Model: Amanda Choong
MUA: Kirsten Pawlicki

Emma Wannell unleashed.

When I first met Emma, for my usual meet and greet interview, she appeared to be a reserved and almost shy young model.

The contact was immediately established between the photographer and the model.

We discussed the shoot and what to expect from each other.

I’d say that I am nicely surprised on the set by Emma’s professionalism and the way she acts as a model.

Emma needed very little direction and comply with any posing requests that I asked her for. The images speak for themselves.

Is Emma the next Miss Top Model ?

Who knows but Emma is definitely a model to watch and follow.

No more chat, let room for the images. Enjoy.
