Christine & Henry Tran. The Wedding

A quick post from the awesome wedding in Sacramento, California, of Christine and Henry Tran.

These two have been in love shortly when Xtine moved with her family from Washington DC to Sacramento.

Henry popped the question last year and following the traditional engagement, graciously captured by TomKat Photography (www.tomkatphotography.com), they tied the knot with a very traditional Wedding Ceremony followed by a less formal big reception with a few 500 + guests.

I enjoyed the Ceremony and the food at the Reception. Everything was awesome and even the bride took siege of the stage for a live performance dedicated to her newly wed husband.

The video is coming soon.

Here are a few images edited “basically” with my laptop in the plane on the way home. Nothing really fancy as I didn’t have my palette of “tools” for my style of editing.

Needless to say that more will be coming soon.

Special thank to TomKat Photography for the hospitality during my stay, with my family, for the wedding and for letting me shooting on his “turf”.

We’ll be back …

BTS: Behind The Scene Photo Shoots

I always try to share my experience with other inspiring photographers and models, most of my modeling shoots are followed by a videographer.

On the Nomad Photography Youtube Chanel, I try to post as often as possible all my behind the scene shoots showing various details of a fashion shoot, lighting, composition, the gears that I use and most importantly the way I work around my models and locations.

With the best tools in the world, if you are not confident and don’t communicate with your models your photos will show it.

I really enjoy (photo) shooting models and also want the fun to be the same for all the crew and especially for my models.

Make sure to subscribe to my Youtube Chanel to get all the latest news and videos.

Aurelie’s TTD “lite”

Two days after the wedding in Nomea, the couple and I went “out for lunch” at the groom’s resort, about 1 and a half hour drive from Noumea.

The set was an awesome resort with bungalows in the middle of the jungle, overlooking to the mountains and there is even a river running near by.

What happened after the lunch was abit expected: we went for a TTD session. It was a pity that the river was almost dry though. I couldn’t push my vision to the limit of a TTD …

Flagrant Delit

A hotel room. Two people. A hundred reasons not to be there.

This is a model shoot with two friends model, Iulia Lungu and Shane Foreman, last Saturday at the Hyatt in Canberra.

I had a quick chat with Iulia during the week about the shoot and we talked about various themes but haven’t decided what to shoot. I usually chose a location and a theme for the shoot but really like the intrigue of the unknown and also improvise on the set.

This shoot was all but predictable. First I wanted a dark scene where the couple would be really “uncomfortable” for shooting and I planned to push them to the limits… 🙂

Well, we started quite late, around 8pm, so they had dinner before hand :)… Not easy to put the models in uncomfortable situations and positions with their stomachs full. Isn’t it ?

Hummm, I must admit that they did pretty well actually. Ther was no precise theme and I decided to improvise as I didn’t know how the room looked like.

The scene is set and I started shooting from the hall way.

Here is the first set: Flagrant Delit. Debut d’une serie noire.

Katrina Lewis. A multi talent model

I met Katrina during one of the FTV Diamond  Model Awards nights a few weeks ago and took a few photo of her.

Straight away, I saw in Katrina the potentials of a model. The way she talks, the way she poses and the way she acts like a model, naturally.

It is then no surprise that we plan a shoot together and I can confirm that more than being a model very fun and easy to work with, she has other talents. Katrina is an athlete swimmer (Katrina won a bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Beijing), ballroom dancer, make up artist, lecturer and is a very fun model. Yeah, I already said that but it’s worth to mention again 🙂
