Jessica & Mark’s Wedding

It was a warm day and the sun was high in the sky when I left home heading to Jessica parents’ house.

I have met Jessica several times before the wedding, as I would with all my couples prior to their weddings, and have quickly sympathised with her, her parents and Mark, her future husband.

During our meetings prior to the wedding day, I’ve learnt to know a bit more about Jessica and Mark which helped me in capturing their story the way they are, naturally.

Jessica even created a pin board, on pinterest to share with about the type of images she’d like to have for her own wedding. That was a cool idea and through that pin board we could share and exchange ideas of images during the bridal party session.

Jessica and Mark’s wedding was one of those glamorous weddings that I really enjoy capturing because I can add a touch of glamour and fashion into a the special day of my couples.

Let’s leave place for the 38 images.

PS:

If you are interested to know, I used a Canon 5D Mark III and a Canon 1Dx to shoot this wedding with a couple of L series lenses.

I’ll put up a post with the feed back about the gear I use for wedding in a couple of days when I get my head out of the editing :o)

Joanne & Kieran

The weather has been playing up a bit during this week that I was a bit nervous about Joanne & Kieran’s Wedding.

It happened that on Saturday, we had an awesome blue sky (cloudless though…) with a very nice temperature.

All started at Jo’s parents’ house with the girls getting ready. I’d say that I rarely saw such a nice garden. Jimmy & Dianne obviously put a lot of their time and effort to create such an amazing outdoor living space.

In the themed garden, there is a bar and pool area in one corner and in another, there is a wood fire heated room with a big screen TV for the footy 🙂

The Ceremony was at a 150 year old church, St Francis Xavier, in Hal and the reception was at the Golf Club, Gold Creek.

I shot this wedding with … 3 cameras, a Canon 1D Mark IV, a Nikon D3s and the … Hasselblad H4D40.

I think I’ll definitely need an assistant for my next wedding using this (H4D40) camera.

Poonam & Grant Teaser

Just a quick teaser on an awesome wedding and a gorgeous bridal party last Saturday: Poonam & Grant’s Wedding.

It was Foreshore by the lake so we avoided the area for our traditional location photography with the bridal party. Instead, we headed to the General Governor’s house and spent almost the whole afternoon there.

Needless to say that the spot was very busy but as we were there the first ones, we had all the fun.

Check out the teaser.

Rochelle & BJ.

Rochelle is a very well organized young lady, I remember the first time I met her for a chat to discuss about her wedding photography.
It was more than 9 months ago and Rochelle had her little diary with her where every details for the wedding planning were sorted.
Bj ids the type of quiet guy who trusts Rochelle and let her decide about everything.
Rochelle & BJ met when they were teenagers and worked at the same bowling centre. They’ve decide to tie the knot on this Friday at the awesome Chapel in Gold Creek.
Family and friends were coming from around Australia and especially Rochelle “adoptive” family came from France to the special occasion (Rochelle spent sometimes in France as a correspondence/student exchange program).
Thanks guys for having chosen me to capture your precious moments. All the best for your new life.
Just a quick post of some images. More coming soon.

Sophie & Nina. M Bridal

It was a really amazing day to shoot with some amazing people.

First I’d like to thank Ben Appleton for letting me use his awesome apartment for the shoot. We didn’t really have time  to exploit all the potentials of the location but I think we got some nice images.

Models.

I met Sophie back to 2007 for a first chat before a shoot. It was at the Gus’ Cafe’ in the Civic. Sophie showed me her portfolio and we never had a chance to do a shoot together… until now.

Nina. I’ve “met” Nina on Facebook and noticed that she has really nice bridal look and would look gorgeous for a bridal shoot.

Nina just had a little boy from about 3 months and it is just amazing how she looks on the shoot. Stunning in a bridal gown.

The Make up artist is the very well know Zoe Barton (http://www.zbmakeup.com.au). Zoe specializes in bridal make up and I already had the joy to shoot with her for bridal magazines. If you are getting married soon, give Zoe a call to book for your make up.

The designer: Anita J from Anita J Bridal Couture (http://www.anitajbridal.com.au/BridalCouture.htm).

Anita is a very talented wedding gown designer in Canberra. You can find all the details on her website and her design is just amazing.

I had the joy to shoot some of Anita’s designs for bridal magazines and really enjoy shooting them again today.

Anita brought about 12 gowns to the shoot but unfortunately, we didn’t have the time to shoot them all.

Another shoot is already planned for a near future.

Stay tuned.

Mayu & Radek. The Wedding

As mentioned in a previous teaser, this was a particular wedding for me to shoot:

Mayu & Radek won one of my major sponsor prizes last year during the Your Local Wedding Guide – Wedding Fair.

(if you’re a bride to be, come and see us at the next expo, sometimes in august, and get a chance to win one of these awesome prizes)

OK, back to Mayu & Radek Wedding. It was a Japanese-Polish wedding and I’d say that I had real fun to capture.

The bridal party was really awesome and fun.

Needless to mention that during a Japanese wedding, I am not the ONLY photographer on the “set”
