I flew to Melbourne yesterday to catch up with some gear dealers and most importantly for a Melbourne Coffee.
I took along with me my Leica M9 to shoot some street photography.
These below images have been taken in JPEG mode and in black and white mode in camera.

Way too long since I last post here and bot because I’ve been lazy but because I’ve been all over the place… OK and a tiny bit lazy too.
I’ve been between shoots, wedding, projects, edits and all sort of thing photography related (very exciting projects that I am very excited to share with you).
Aside from setting up a few community websites and instructional website, yes I am now providing 1-on-1 flash photography workshop for other photographers, and I can tell you that I didn’t see winter gone by..
You may also have noticed that during the winter, wedding off season, I got more and more into editorial and fashion photography, which I enjoy more and more shooting.
Here are some recent projects and some from older shoots that I recently edited.
I found that coming back to a shoot later in time allows me to have a different perspective on the shoot and edit them with another feel.

Time flies when we are having fun.
It’s been a while the last time I updated this blog… I’ve been really busy between shoots and with the launch of the community website (www.australian-photo.com) I have committed more time in updating it. If you want to see some awesome photography, I’d recommend to have a visit at Australian-Photo.com website.

Catching up with my crazy schedule, I just wanted to share some images created a week ago with a model that I shot for the first time.
It was a fun shoot with a long time friend make up artist, Isma Majeed, who just came back to Canberra for a couple of days (she moved to Melbourne last year)> I’d say that it’s always a pleasure t work with Isma and I am looking forward to doing a shoot with her sometimes in Melbourne.
Most of the image have been captured with my new toy: an Olympus OM-D mounted with a Leica M 50mm Summicron lens. This is my new favorite little camera right now..

It’s been a while now since m last post and I must say I have been so busy with heaps of projects.
First I set up two new web sites especially dedicated to photographers, it is live for more than about a month, www.australian-photo.com.
Australian Photo is a community website with an open space to receive photographers from different backgrounds, with different specialties. The aim of this website is to connect people to the photographers and photographers between them. This site will publish finished/edited images.
My second website is still under construction but is also well under way. It will be the space where I’ll explain my philosophy about MY photography, why and how I do it and mainly to explain the process I use to go from capture to the final image. I called this website AfterRaw.com.
If you have time, make sure you have a look at these two websites and I would really welcome your support and comment on how to make them better, more interesting and a nice place on the net to spend time. Have fun.
As mentioned on a previous post, I set up this shoot to test drive the newly added Canon 5D Mark III in my gear bag, but when packing the day before, I couldn’t resist to pack my Hasselblad H4D40 and the new HC 120mm F/4 II Macro lens. I wanted to see every details.
Along with the Canon 5D Mark III, I packed the EF 85 f/1.2 L II and decided that the shoot will be a beauty shoot so there was really no need for zoom lens or other focal length.
At the studio, I started setting up and hanged around waiting for my first model to finish her hair and make up (thanks to Amanda and Jessica for an awesome job), I though I’d click a few frames for some BTS (Behind The Scene) archives.
Man, I had this camera for 3 days and only started shooting with it really for a … BTS. I must admit that I was a bit hesitant about the camera (it’s more of a 7D Mark II for me than a 5D Mark III) but I even like the shutter sound of it .. 😀
I personally found that there are so many options in the menu and it takes sometimes to change from one set of menu to another … Haven’t really tested the Canon 5D Mark III to its limits, I noticed through the viewfinder that he buffer size is somewhat … 10 RAW frames …
I haven’t burnt big frame rates yet but from a buffer of 21 RAW frames on a Canon 5D Mark II to a 10 RAW frames buffer on the Canon 5D Mark III is a shocker …
